Today, you can have your cake and eat it for free. Sugar Mama Bakery is celebrating the 1-year anniversary of their opening by giving away free mini versions of their Downtown Brownie cupcake at their Bloomington location, 405 N. Main Street. In addition to the cupcake giveaway, the bakery will have a ribbon cutting at 11 am with the McLean County Chamber of Commerce and is giving away a $100 birthday cake package today.
A lot can happen in a year. According to reps at the bakery, Sugar Mama sold over 100,000 cupcakes in their first year. Their top-selling desserts included the Salted Caramel, Birthday Cake, and Red Velvet cupcakes. The business has been so successful that they recently opened a second location at 116 W. North Street in uptown Normal.
Sugar Mama’s downtown Bloomington bakery is open today from 10 am until 6 p.m.
